PARKING:
For parking you have two options.
CAMPUS CENTER GARAGE: The easiest place to park is at the Campus
Center Garage. Unfortunately it is $1.50 per hour, but the nice thing about
parking here is that it is directly connected to the building that the competition
is being held in. There are some signs for this building once you are on campus,
but you can get a map here
as well as using the address in MapQuest:
91 Campus Center Way
Amherst, MA 01003
LOT PARKING: There are certain free on-campus lots during weekends. You
can park in any space that is not marked as a special reserved space.
This is advised if you are willing to walk a little bit and
feel comfortable following a map to get to the Campus Center. For a map of
these parking lots Click
Here. Keep in mind that the map is coded for weekdays, and that you can
park in the after 5pm lots on Sundays.
GETTING TO CAMPUS CENTER AND ROOM 163C:
FROM CAMPUS CENTER GARAGE: This is the easiest way.
Once parked in the garage you want to proceed to Level 2 where there is a
"To Campus Center" sign somewhere. Once you find the door, you will
walk through a long hallway to the other end where there is a glass door.
Proceed through this and you will be in the Campus Center. Immediately go
left and you will see the U-Store in front of you. You want to go right and
walk down the main chamber, where you will eventually come across an escalator
on your left handside. The competition is being held in a room just a little
way down on the right after getting off the escalator. We will try to have
signs up to help direct people there. But feel free to ask around if you do
get lost. It can be confusing and the people around the area should know what
room you are talking about.
FROM ONE OF THE VARIOUS LOTS: Again this can be tricky if
you are unfamiliar with the campus since this is a rather big school. But
if you feel up to it you can give it a try. The building is very large and
people commonly call it the "waffle" building because of its unusual
design. A picture of it can be found by Clicking
Here. Best thing to do is probably use your map from
the Lot
Parking and navigate across campus to it. Ask anybody that you see. Chances
are that they will know where the Campus Center is. If you've entered through
the main entrance the Blue Wall will be on your left. Walk down the main chamber
just a bit and escalators will be on your right that will bring you down to
where the competiiton is being held. Again we will try to have signs up to
help navigate.
If you have any questions feel free to email me at Contest@MasterMagic.NET
If you get really lost somewhere on campus my cell phone number is 413-374-8619
but please use this as a last resort. There are maps across campus, and the
building should be quite visable from wherever you park. Every student (and
most faculty) should be able to give you directions. Good luck and can't wait
to see everyone there!!!!
