Bring you non-throwhand over
your throwhand. Give the yo-yo a straight up jerk catch it between
your two hands as it snaps up. |

Bring your throwhand underneath the yo-yo. | |

Pull just your throwhand straight down. The yo-yo should spin with the string hanging over you non-throwhand. Then simply return to your hand. (If it is not hanging off your throwhand it sometimes helps to pinch the string with your non-throwhand's thumb before pulling straight down.) | |
